SAN ANTONIO COVER BAND

“The party really started when y’all took the stage”!  Kelsie

WHAT WE DO BEST

Gunpowder Soup monitors the dancer’s preferences and pick the right song to keep dancer’s on the floor and packed.  Look at our photos for proof!  We welcome guest’s request and invite them to sing along with us on a microphone.  Most songs are played back to back and our energy level is contagious!

SONG SELECTION

Other bands promote a large repertoire of 500+ songs.  How can a band perform that many songs with 100% perfection?   Gunpowder Soup does not advertise a large repertoire list because we want to perform songs we know well and play often.

COUNTRY, CLASSIC ROCK, and 80s MUSIC

For those who love and want only country music, Gunpowder Soup can play two stepping country songs all night.   If you want to hear only rock, pop, and the 80s for your event, we will start with an explosive bang.
The band employs a country male vocalist from Nashville and Opryland, so country will sound country.  When we start playing pop music, 80s, and Top 40, our talented female performer will entertain you with powerful vocals.  For Classic Rock, 70s, and the 60s, another male vocalist will take the lead.  Our harmony vocals are top notch and we entertain ALL generations.

TOP 40

So you want to dance to the newest Billboard Top 40 songs, we offer DJ service during our break.  We will play the newest hit song and take guest’s requests, therefore, the party never ends!

On PICK YOUR SONGS page, you can place a check mark on the songs you want played at your event!

"Gunpowder Soup was the feature performance at our Point S Tire & Auto annual business meeting in San Antonio. Performing to a room of 500 guests, they had so much energy and were excited to engage with the audience – cannot say that about every band. Pretty cool to see a band of five include two ladies. All of the band members are multi-talented; singing, playing instruments and dancing! They The guitarist worked the room, physically moving with guitar and microphone around the room, to encourage audience members to sing along with the band. The songs they chose were great; a variety of genres that all of our audience members enjoyed (some children and younger adults; mainly adults 35-65). We will absolutely consider having them come to future events as long as budget allows."

2019

For the show, Gunpowder Soup will start out with country and wedding favorites like Sweet Caroline, Crazy, or My Girl.  Then we morph into 80s, line dance, and sing along songs like Friends In Low Places and Take Me Home Country Roads.   The last set is dance favorites like Play That Funky Music, Kiss, and You Shook Me All Night.

For corporate events, out-of-state guests want to dance the two step, learn how to line dance to Boot Scootin' Boogie and Copperhead Road. Ask about line dance instructions, we will teach you!

Gunpowder Soup specializes in weddings and creating fun for wedding customs and special dances.   Our professional team can also perform for your ceremony.

"I was looking for a band to play at our fundraiser. I looked at about 12 different bands online and went to see 3 of them perform and Gunpowder Soup was at the top of the list. They are very professional and excellent musicians and they really get the guests engaged. I had so many compliments about their performance. We will definitely look to use them in the future."
