GUNPOWDER SOUP is one-of-a-kind, reputable, professional Texas cover band, playing a variety of cover songs for weddings, corporate events, conventions, fundraisers, parties, and large galas. Once we step on the stage, our aim is to kick off the party and get your guests on the dance floor right away. After performing for many years, we know which songs will flood the dance floor and which songs bring people to our crowd microphone. Most songs are performed back-to-back and clients have a choice in song selection for the event.
GUNPOWDER SOUP has been in the wedding and corporate business since 1999. We know how to make your event special plus we have won numerous awards from The Knot and Wedding Wire for outstanding service in the wedding industry.
COUNTRY, POP/ROCK 80s, 70s, 60s, Top 40
The Band has three to four lead vocalists who specialize in different genres of music such as Top 40, Country, 80s, 70s, Oldies, Disco, and Latin. We try and duplicate the songs you know and love. Our country songs and vocals will sound country and the pop songs will not sound country. Our 80s and Classic Rock music will rock. GUNPOWDER SOUP starts the dinner set with country and easy listening songs. In the 2nd set, we play Disco, 80s, and sprinkle in Country songs. For the 3rd set, the dance floor is packed because we play major dance hits.
Clients and guests can request songs and if we know the song, GUNPOWDER SOUP will play it! If the event is a party without dinner or a “meet and greet” hour, we will start right away with our country two step and dance floor favorites.
ATTENTION TO DETAILS
In-ear monitors and talk-back mics are used to communicate between members on stage for song selection, walk-in/walk-off cues, emcee auctions closings, and change in schedule. GUNPOWDER SOUP takes extra measures to ensure all the details are finalized before the band arrives at the venue. The Band will contact the venue, electrical coordinators, planners, and wedding planners for scheduling and logistics.

Marius and Jeanine are building a new “state of the art” recording studio and run a school, Audio Enginearing Institute, teaching audio engineering classes, audio-eng.com
Our gear has been assembled by our GRAMMY Award Winning Recording Engineer, Marius Perron, who has a MS in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas. Jeanine Davis-Perron (owner) has a BS degree in Hospital Administration and stock trades during the week.
PERFORMANCE
For cocktail hour, we play MP3 music from our stage speakers, unless you hire an acoustic musician from our staff. During dinner, the Band will play low volume and slow to mid-tempo songs to accommodate conversations
After formalities, we will fill the dance floor with dancers, interact with guests off-stage, enlist singers on our crowd microphone. GUNPOWDER SOUP started tambourines and crowd mics on the dance floor and we continue this client favorite.
GPS BUSINESS MODEL
We have been engaging with guests since 1999 and are experts in the entertainment business. Detailed local female management and an A+ from the Better Business Bureau set us apart from other bands. Clients call and book directly through our Contact page and we generate our own contracts.
Important: GUNPOWDER SOUP carries general liability insurance for venues that require a one million dollar policy. The owner is always on site and manages the Band during the event.

If you want to hire a two or three piece horn section, email for availability. You will love our variety of lead vocalists and wall of harmonies. Our musicians are multi-talented on different instruments so we have a full sound depending on the instrumentation of each song.
